What does your business need next?
One of my favorite questions to ask leadership teams is also one of the hardest to answer:
What does the business need next?
Not next week.
Not next quarter.
Next.
Because growth has a funny way of creating new questions before it creates new job openings.
Questions like:
• Do we need a new leader?
• Do we need a new capability?
• Do we need a different structure?
• Do we need a new role altogether?
Too often, organizations jump straight to recruiting.
But the most successful talent decisions I've seen start with clarity, not a job description.
The companies that scale well aren't always the ones that hire the fastest. They're the ones that take the time to understand what the business is becoming and what it will take to support that next phase of growth.
Sometimes that leads to a search.
Sometimes it leads somewhere completely different.
And honestly, those are some of my favorite conversations.
What's a question your organization is wrestling with right now that doesn't have an obvious answer?
I'd love to hear what's on your mind.
